Where to Get a Proper Club Sandwich in Pattaya

Triple-decker BRU club sandwich with chicken, bacon, egg and salad, served with fries as a combo in Pattaya

The club sandwich is one of those things that everywhere serves and almost nowhere takes seriously. It appears on hotel menus, poolside menus, bar menus and room service menus across Pattaya, usually at a price that suggests care and in a form that suggests none was taken.

This is an argument about what a club sandwich is supposed to be, and where to get one in Pattaya that holds up.

What a club sandwich actually is

The traditional club is a double-decker: three slices of toasted bread, two layers of filling, cut into four triangles and pinned with cocktail sticks so it does not slide apart. Chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise. That is the canonical version and it has survived a century because the structure works — each layer does something the other cannot.

The three slices matter more than people think. Two slices give you a sandwich. Three give you two distinct bites of filling separated by toast, which is why a club feels more substantial than a sandwich of the same weight.

The cocktail sticks matter too, and not for decoration. Without them the top layer slides off on the first bite.

The four ways it goes wrong in Pattaya

Untoasted bread. A club sandwich made on soft white bread is a pile of ingredients. Toasting gives you the structural rigidity to stack two layers and the textural contrast that makes the whole thing work.

Processed chicken. Reformed chicken slices are cheap and consistent and taste of nothing. Real cooked chicken — or a proper chicken mayonnaise filling — is the difference between a sandwich you finish and one you leave half of.

Cold bacon. Bacon that was cooked an hour ago and has gone soft and cool is worse than no bacon. It should be crisp when it goes in.

Watery tomato. Tomato is mostly water, and if it goes in unsalted and unblotted it turns the toast underneath to mush before it reaches the table — let alone before it reaches your house on a motorbike.

Any one of these will ruin it. Most places manage at least two.

    What we make

We do two versions on Siam Country Club Road, and they solve slightly different problems.

    Deluxe Club Sandwich — ฿195

Layers of premium Virginia ham, egg, fresh lettuce, tomato and creamy chicken filling, stacked between lightly toasted bread. This is the closer-to-classic version — the chicken is a proper filling rather than a slice, which means it does not dry out, and the egg adds the richness that a plain chicken-and-bacon club sometimes lacks.

    Deluxe Chicken BLT — ฿200

Chicken, bacon, lettuce and tomato — the club's leaner sibling, without the ham and egg. If the Deluxe Club is the full argument, this is the concise version. It is also, going by what customers actually say publicly, the item people are most likely to name when they talk about us. One TripAdvisor reviewer called it one of the greatest sandwiches he had eaten, which is a sentence we did not write and have never quite got over.

    BRU Club Combo — ฿350

The Deluxe Club Sandwich with a fresh fruit juice and an Aero chocolate bar. Worth mentioning because the maths is favourable — the sandwich alone is ฿195, and the combo adds a drink and chocolate for ฿155.

    The delivery problem

Here is the thing nobody mentions about ordering a club sandwich for delivery: it is one of the hardest sandwiches to transport. It is tall, it is held together by friction and cocktail sticks, and it contains two of the most moisture-prone ingredients in the kitchen.

A club that has spent twenty minutes in a sealed container steams itself. The toast softens, the tomato weeps, and what arrives is structurally a different sandwich from the one that left.

    Two practical things follow.

Order it for pickup if you can. A club sandwich eaten five minutes after it was made is a materially better sandwich than the same one eaten twenty-five minutes later. This is not a delivery pitch — it is just true.

If you are ordering delivery, order it to arrive when you will eat it. Not when you will be free to answer the door and then get to it in ten minutes. A club sandwich has a short optimal window and it does not wait politely.

    What to drink with it

A club is rich, salty and mayonnaise-bound, which means it wants something with either acidity or cold to cut through it.

    • Iced Americano ฿70 — bitterness against fat, the reliable pairing.
    • Iced Lemon Tea ฿70 — acidity against mayonnaise, the underrated one.
    • Lemon & Lime Soda ฿55 — if you want the sandwich to be the whole meal.
    • Fresh Orange Juice ฿65 — the hotel-brunch answer, and it works for a reason.

    The price question

A club sandwich in a Pattaya hotel will typically cost you two to three times what it costs from a café, for a sandwich that has usually travelled further from kitchen to table.

Our Deluxe Club is ฿195 ordered direct. The same sandwich through a delivery app is ฿275, because the apps take a commission on every order and that commission has to come from somewhere. Ordering at order.bru.asia means it does not come from you.

Order at order.bru.asia — BRU Coffee & Bar, Siam Country Club Road, East Pattaya. Open 7:30 to 17:00 daily.

    Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a club sandwich and a BLT?
A club is a double-decker — three slices of bread, two layers of filling, traditionally including chicken. A BLT is bacon, lettuce and tomato on two slices. Our Deluxe Chicken BLT adds chicken to the BLT, which puts it somewhere between the two.
Is the club sandwich served hot or cold?
The bread is toasted and the bacon is cooked fresh, so it arrives warm rather than hot. The filling is cool. That contrast is part of the point.
Can I order a club sandwich for delivery in East Pattaya?
Yes. Enter your address at order.bru.asia and it will tell you straight away whether you are inside the delivery area. Bear in mind that clubs are best eaten promptly.
Do you make a vegetarian version?
Not as a standard menu item, but the Build Sandwich option starts at ฿40 and lets you choose your own fillings, including the Grilled Cheese & Tomato at ฿120 as a ready-made vegetarian alternative.
How much is a club sandwich in Pattaya?
It varies enormously — from around ฿150 in a café to ฿500 or more in a hotel. Ours is ฿195 ordered direct, ฿275 through the delivery apps.
What comes in the BRU Club Combo?
The Deluxe Club Sandwich, a fresh fruit juice of your choice, and an Aero chocolate bar, for ฿350.
    Do you use real chicken?
Yes — a creamy chicken filling rather than reformed slices, which is the main reason it does not dry out.
